Your Appointment - What to Expect
We are absolutely THRILLED to be able to welcome brides back into our little slice of bridal heaven and after reviewing the current guidelines, we have put the following procedures in place to ensure everybody feels safe and secure whilst choosing The One:
Covid Need to Knows:
~ Appts will run slightly shorter than usual (1.5hrs instead of 2hrs for consultations) to allow half an hour between appointments to limit cross contamination and to allow us to clean the area and gowns tried on.
~ We will steam AND disinfect all gowns tried on between each appointment so that you can feel safe in choosing any gown to try on.
~ We ask that you use our fancy-pants sanitising station upon entering the store.
~ The bride may bring 2-3 guests. Two guests is preferable but 3 is also fine so long as too many opinions won't confuse you. Brides tend to get overly stressed with too many guests despite what certain TV shows lead you to believe!
~ Feel free to set up Zoom/Facetime etc. (Please have this set up prior to your appt to save time)
~ Disposable gloves will be supplied to you if you wish to use them and we ask that you ALL use appropriate face coverings over mouth AND nose & keep them on throughout your appointment.
~ All members of Love Story staff are getting Covid tested twice weekly.
~ For everybody's safety, we will be wearing masks and sanitising our hands between appts. During the appointment we cannot offer tea/coffee anymore as per government guidelines :( Grandma is very sad about this bit - but we will have a selection of single use refreshments & of course you are welcome to bring your own refreshments as long as you are happy to take any rubbish away with you.
~ Please do not attend your appointment if you or a member of your party are unwell. We are a small business and have to shut if we become ill - please bare that in mind and always let us know if you cannot attend so that we can staff accordingly or offer your slot to another bride.
General Need To Knows:
~ All brides will still receive one of our infamous goody bags when they place an order, stuffed with supplier discounts and goodies!
~ It is SO important that you bring the right people with you to your appointment - I cannot stress this enough. So many brides find 'The One' when they 'just nipped in to get an idea' and then are gutted when that special person isn't there to share that moment with them. THIS IS YOUR LOVE STORY GUYS :)
~ It's also a really good idea to have 'The Budget Chat' prior to your appointment so that we can avoid putting the bride in something she falls in love with but cannot have. Nobody wants that! More information on our prices is further down this menu...
~ Our gowns range from size 0 - 20 and are priced from £750 for the shorter tea-length gowns and sample dresses, to £1950 with nothing over £2000.
~ A 50% deposit is required to order any gown with payment plans available for those with more time.
~ Another handy thing to know is that alterations are not included in the price of the gown but typically don't go over £250. We can discuss this with you at your appointment.
~ Brides attending fittings, please bring your shoes to every appointment and pay your balance by bank transfer prior to arrival if possible. A first fit/Styling appt is 45mins and every fitting after that will be half an hour :)
~ Please remember that gowns can take up to 6-9months to be made from the time of ordering & boutiques are preparing for an influx of brides that have had to pause their planning during lockdown. Due to this, we must ask that if you cannot attend your appt for any reason, that you let us know at least 24-48hrs prior to your appt so that we can staff accordingly and offer the slot to another customer that may need it. Please avoid booking in for the time being if you're 'just wanting to get an idea' to ensure brides with shorter lead dates are able to book in.
You will find that all bridal boutiques will be running similarly for the foreseeable future but despite all of the above, we WILL make your appointment as lovely and special as we possibly can to deliver the service that we are known for (Check out our reviews on Facebook & Google!)
